The Hidden City of American Falls

For our birthdays this year, Zac and I decided to get SCUBA certified, which was amazing.  While in the course, our instructor had mentioned that American Falls, near our home, contains an underground city, which was created over a hundred years ago when the city decided to build a dam and a reservoir.  They were able to evacuate the city, moving many of the structures, but leaving behind a ghost town of foundations, sidewalks, and other city amenities.

This year, our drought situation was the direst we have seen in years, which is terrible, but it did create the opportunity for us to explore the ruins of what once was American Falls.  And it was amazing.  I have always loved ghost towns and thinking about those who came before.  It was so cool to me to walk down the once underwater streets and explore the foundations of the American Falls of old.
