The Retreat

Ian had this super hilarious idea that months before his mission, he started seeding ideas in his dad's head for projects to be done around the house.  The goal was that he wouldn't have to help with them, since he would be leaving in July and he would come home to some awesome new features.  One such project was called, "The Retreat".  The idea was to create a pickleball court and a new larger basketball court that didn't look into the sun like the one in our driveway.  Zac loved the idea and had the boys get started on it immediately so that we could have it done in time for Ian's Farewell.  We pretty much had it finished the week of the farewell, which meant that Ian got all the work in, but not much of the playing!  This was a great project for the boys to learn about pouring concrete.

Tanner had the genius idea that "The Retreat" needed to have an extra patio area, where people could sit and watch the pickleball games and wait for their turns and it kept blowing up from there until we ended up with a beautiful fully furnished  pergola with lights, water fountain, misters, and a bar.

First shot on the new basketball hoop!
