Saying Farewell to Elder Fillmore
Sending Ian off was a little different than sending Tanner and Ashlyn off for a few reasons. First, he was able to put his papers in sooner. The church made a change that now allows for missionaries to put their papers in 5 months before their availability dates, which in the past used to be 3 or 4. So he put in his papers early and then sat with that call from the end of February clear through July. He was so ready to go by the time it came around.
Ashlyn, Charlotte, and Grandma Julie were able to play a musical number for his Farewell.

Packing
Saying goodbye to his best friend, Levi, who started the week after Ian and went to the Mexico MTC while Ian went to the Brazil CTM.
The other part that was way different than when we sent off the twins, was that he headed straight to the missionary trainng center in Brazil. Rather than driving him to Provo and dropping him off, we had to take him to the Idaho Falls airport and say our goodbyes there.
It is always hard to say goodbye, but he was more than ready to go. We were so relieved when he called to tell us that he had landed and arrived at the CTM safely and we have enjoyed hearing of his antics in the CTM, but we sure miss our boy.
