BYU Men's Basketball Trip
We absolutely love getting to a BYU men's basketball game once a year, but when the NIL rules for NCAA changed a couple of years ago, it changed everything! Now that BYU is spending big $$ on their players, they also want big $$ for a ticket to come and watch them. Most games retail at $250 per ticket and that makes it very difficult to take a family of 8 for that price.
Fortunately, they play a couple of no name teams in a year and ticket prices for those games go down to $50 a ticket. So we jumped on that opportunity and headed South to go watch one of our favorite teams! Charlotte ended up not being able to go because she had an away basketball game come up on that weekend. We missed her so much, but we replaced her with Ashlyn's best friend, Bekkha, and she was a lot of fun.
Grandpa Rich gave us each $50 for Christmas which we used to buy some BYU swag at the BYU store.
Campus was decked out beautifully for the holidays!
Bronson and Zac insisted on being into the game venue 2 hours early because Bronson wanted to try to get some player autographs. Sadly, when we got there, we found out that they only opened hte doors 1 hour before game time, so we had some time to kill.
Bronson, our biggest BYU diehard, was able to get an autograph from one player and slapped the hands of a few others. He was so close to getting Robert Wrights autograph, he was so sad he was the first one in line that didn't get an autography before Wright went into the locker room.
No matter who they play, we always have the best time!
On the way home, we went through Willard Bay State park, who puts on a beautiful Christmas light drive through.
We had a really fun time and hope we can continue to keep up with following the Cougs no matter how fancy they get! Crossing our fingers for a March Madness final 4 this year!
