Fair Enough

The Fair came to town and brought with it hundreds of thousands of patrons to our small little neck of the woods.  Tanner was doing home MTC at the time and we convinced him to go with us one last time before he left for the next two years.

Every year the Fair starts with a parade, with actual floats, and horses, and fire trucks, marching bands, and of course lots of candy.  As we are usually in Island Park for the 4th of July and that parade is more like a side-by-side show, it is fun for the kids to see an actual parade!

The girls and I split off from the group and went and checked out the animals.

And they also thought the Butterfly Haven was pretty cool!

The boys and Ashlyn checked out the other end of the parade and loved this upside down display from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
We didn't stay too long.  Tanner felt way too conspicuous in his shirt and tie with his nametag and didn't love all of the attention it was generating.  But it was still fun to go back to our roots and see that same Fair with the same booths that have been there ever since I was a little girl excited to see what the Fair had to offer!
