A Trip to See Thomas Rhett in Concert

What do you get a kid for his birthday who will be leaving all worldly goods aside for the next two years as he prepares to serve the Lord?  Memories!  And in this case memories in the form of concert tickets to a favorite country artist... Thomas Rhett.  Thomas Rhett is the first and only CD that Tanner had ever purchased and he has so many awesome songs that I thought it would be a perfect pick for Tanner's first-ever concert.  And because I knew he wouldn't be thrilled with going just him and mom, I gave him three tickets, he could take whomever he chose.  And very sweetly he picked Ian and Ashlyn!

We stopped at Smith and Edwards on the way, where Ian found "Ian" pants!

We started to get nervous when it started to rain, as it was an outdoor concert.  We got a call after we arrived telling us that there would be a rain delay.  And since we weren't in assigned seating and it was a first come first serve venue, we decided to wait the rain storm out in line to hold our spot.

The rain finally started to dissipate just as the sun was going down and made a gorgeous sunset across the valley.

The concert was pretty amazing.  We sat out on the grass and had an awesome time right up until the rowdies next to us started taking off their shirts and drinking beer out of their cowboy boots!

The next day, we played a few rounds at Top Golf, which Tanner had done once before with Zac and I in Galveston, but Ashlyn and Ian had never tried.  They loved it.  They especially loved the cream-injected donut holes!

I kind of kicked the kids butts, and they still won't believe me that I didn't cheat somehow!

A beautiful rainbow made it's debut just as they were letting us in for the concert.  We knew it was going to be an amazing night!

But no matter how fun the trip, nothing beats home for Tanner, especially with a good old dog to snuggle.
