Bronson is 9er

Our little Buster turned 9 this year.  To celebrate, we let him have a little home party where he invited his four best friends to join in on some Winter fun.

The kid has loved watching the New Orleans Saints play this year, especially because Taysom Hill, who was a one time quarterback for BYU got some good playing time as quarterback this year when Drew Brees was injured.  He decided he needed a Saints cake this year.  When Zac walked in to see what we were up to and noticed that we were making a 2D New Orleans football helmet, he stepped in to up the game.

Bronson got a Saints colored football from a friend and can't wait to play his first year of flag football this year if Covid numbers will allow Fall sports this year.

Bronson's biggest gift this year was his own Samsung Tablet!  His siblings also worked together to get him the world's coolest Nerf gun, some hamster toys for his hamster, and the game Throw Throw Burrito.

Tanner and Ashlyn always complain that we take too many pictures and way to many unflattering pictures of them, so they confiscated my camera for some revenge.

Not sure why Ashlyn has her skiing helmet on?

Every year Zac and I try to take each of the kids on a birthday date.  This year we took Bronson to a really cool escape room and out to eat at Applebees.  This kid LOVES puzzles and really enjoyed the escape room.

10 Things to Know About Bronson
1.  He is a snuggly kid.  He loves to be snuggled in with me anytime I am sitting down.  He is always very good to give Zac and me hugs goodnight before he goes to bed.
2.  He thinks he might go pro NBA.  It was a very hard decision for him to decide between NFL and NBA, however, NBA won out.  This may be due to the fact that he hasn't actually yet played on a football team and has played city league basketball.  We'll see how he feels when he plays football this Fall.
3. He is very smart.  Bronson always scores off the chart on his tests and has been placed in a gifted and talented program to keep him challenged.  He loves to read and is always at the top of his class with his reading points.
4.  He is very mechanically minded.  Bronson got some Snap Circuits for Christmas that introduced him to electricity and wiring concepts and he LOVES it.  He could spend hours wiring projects with his snap circuits.  He has a very curious mind and is always wondering how things work.
5. He has a signature wrestling move called "The Turtle".  Whenever, we have a wrestling match, the first thing Bronson does is lay flat on his stomach with his hands tight at his side.  He is very hard to flip over when he takes this position.  He isn't much for offense, but he does put up a very tough Defense.
6.  He has to push EVERY button.  If there is a button, Bronson will push it.  He has to know what every button on every remote or device or automobile does.  Getting a new suburban was Heaven for him this year as he has a million new buttons to push and find out what they do.
7.  This is my board game kid.  Bronson loves games and board games more than anyone in the family... especially strategy games like Chess, Catan, Risk, or Monopoly.  He is a very strategic thinker and has been able to play these games since he was quite small.  He begs for family game nights as much as possible.e
8.  Bronson is very independent and loves to do things himself.  Whenever he has a school project, contest, or just craft, it has to 100% be his own idea and his own work.  If he suspects at all that I am trying to help him, he will start all the way over to ensure that no one had a hand in it besides him.  This leads to some failures sometimes, but he learns.  He has been this way for as long as I can ever remember.  Even as a toddler if I helped him so much as put his pants on he would scream, take them off and start over, resulting in backward pants which he would then wear for the rest of the day.  This is a very independent kid.
9.  Bronson is a hard worker.  He has had so many opportunities this past year to go to work with his dad as Zac is taking on more and more construction and remodel projects.  Bronson always wants to go and help.  He is learning how to use tools and is a huge asset on a job site.
10.  This kid is a spiritual giant.  He has such a deep understanding of the gospel.  His questions are always so profound.  While we were having home church this year, he would write a talk on our gospel topic and give us the most insightful little lessons and talks that he came up with all on his own.  Now that we are back in our church building it is not uncommon to watch him sit through a sacrament meeting quietly and intently focused on the speakers.  His testimony is powerful.  I can't wait to see where his life takes him.

We love our little Bronco Buster!
