Sand Bagging
It has been the craziest Winter that I can ever remember! I am so sad because I had taken various pictures throughout the Winter season of the crazy amounts of snow accumulation... but I lost the card that they were on :(
We had feet, FEET of undrifted snow in our yard. It was so high that it covered the swings on our swing set, our burn barrel vanished, our propane tank was all but disappeared. It was nuts! And then that snow all melted very quickly and caused some pretty bad problems for the people in this area. We live in a farm area so vast acres of farmland were transformed into lakes very quickly over the course of a week and started to flow down roads and into houses. We sadly had one room in our basement flood, though it was pretty minimal and we were able to save the carpet, so we were very blessed.
As a stake, we were given the opportunity to put in several hours making sand bags to stockpile for the community. It was amazing to see the community come together to help one another. Zac, I, Tanner, Ashlyn, and even Ian got in on the sandbagging action.
What a great area we live in!
