Zac's Trip to Paradise

Our Zac is becoming quite the traveler.  I never in a million years would have guessed when we got married that 14 years later I would spend large parts of my time helping pack suitcases, sending my jet setter off on adventure after adventure through his work.  I didn't even know that jobs existed in rural old Idaho that required business travel.  But here we are and this is what we do.

A few weeks ago Zac had an opportunity to visit Kansas City, Missouri which happens to be close to many of the LDS Church history sites.  Zac was excited to get some time after meetings to drive down and visit Adam Ondi Ahman and see some of the other sites along the way.

Here is what he saw:

The LDS Church Visitor's Center in Independence, MO

Liberty Jail

And the R-LDS Temple across from the Visitor's Center in Independence.

And here are the pictures of Adam Ondi Ahman.  For those who don't know, according to Wikipedia, Joseph Smith had a revelation that the Valley of Adam Ondi Ahman was the place that Adam and Eve went after being exiled out of the Garden of Eden.  After visiting this site, Joseph Smith proclaimed that there were 2-3 altars still at the site built by Adam and Eve.  If you are interested you can read the article HERE.

There is also an old pioneer cemetery at the site.  The Latter-day Saints had hoped to establish a town here, but didn't get very far before they were run out of Missouri.

Zac took some pictures of the old headstones for me because he knows I am so fascinated by old cemeteries.

He also visited the temple site at Far West.
Here is one of the cornerstones laid for a future temple.  The Saints weren't able to complete this one either as they were run out of town.  But prophecy states that one day this temple will be completed.

Zac works so hard it does my heart good to see that he can find some enjoyment along the way as well.  Now if we can just get these kids grown up a bit, I look forward to joining him in his travels.
