The Annual Igloo
We had a really hard time this year getting a good snow day to make our annual igloo. It's not that we didn't have enough snow... we even had snow days out of school, but it's just that the temperature was so low that we couldn't form a snowball, or if the weather was right the kids were in school all day until the weather dropped again by the time they got home.
But finally, we had one perfect weather day with the right temperature, plenty of snow, and a Friday out of school so that we could spend hours outside with plenty of kid labor.
Tanner decided to make his own igloo this year with the help of his Golden Retriever, Bailey, but ended up cheating on the roof, grabbing some wood from the garage.
The rest of us worked together to make a family igloo.
And then of course we needed a snowman who lived in the igloo, so we had to make this guy.
And then that snowman needed a wife and a dog.
Sadly, our igloo lasted less than a week before it melted. And I would have cheered that the snow had melted, other than we had several more snowstorms roll in before Winter decided to give it up. We are so excited for Spring and hope that all of this snow filled up our reservoirs so that we can go boating this summer!
