Our Corona-cation

I know it might not be a popular opinion...but I kind of like this Corona Virus Quarantine.  Of course, I have worries and I get a little stir crazy, but I actually enjoy having the kids home every day for home school.  This house has been much less lonely of late.  I am also enjoying this time when all of our extra-curricular have been canceled.  Right now we were supposed to have kids in volleyball, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, piano, and three kids in track.  That makes for a busy life getting everyone to practices and tournaments!  Instead, now we have nothing to do but snuggle in and play games together, watch movies together, and play outside in our recently gorgeous weather!

Here are a few of the ways we have spent our time:

Going on scenic drives around our community.  We are so blessed to live close to the Snake River and love enjoying the beauty that grows up around it.  We also love taking advantage of fishing as often as we can in it.

We have been spending much more time playing with our good dog Bailey.  She has been such a good playmate and distraction for the kids during this crazy time.

We took a quick trip to Island Park to check on the cabin and were excited to jump back into a world of snow as it is still piled as high as the stop signs there!

Zac bought us a couple of locks and we broke into groups of 4 and had a competition to see who could make the best escape room.  This took up hours of creative thinking and fun as we came up with the puzzles and solved the other teams puzzles.

Dad's team was lead to a treasure box in a tight mechanical room space beneath the main floor of the cabin.

The kids played for hours and hours in the snow making snow caves, sled runs, and lots of snowmen.

We have also found fun creative things to do at home.  Charlotte made this cute teepee to read in one day.

I think this will be a time in history to never be forgotten.  It has really brought us close together as a family and taught us how to be creative in our fun.  While we can't wait for life to return to "normal" as we knew it before, I hope that having this time of reflection will help us to realize what is important and maybe evaluate how we can make some changes in our lives to continue to keep our family time sacred.
