4th of July

Our 4th of July was a little different this year as it landed on a Wednesday and made it difficult to camp at the cabin like we normally do.  We had to change our plans up a little, but still had a very memorable and wonderful family day.

We spent our morning taking our boat out on its maiden voyage as a family and had a really great time.

We got back just in time to clean up and head in to Idaho Falls for the Melaleuca Fireworks Celebration, which we actually couldn't believe that we hadn't done with the kids before.  We found a decent spot and enjoyed watching movies and eating milkshakes while we waited for the fireworks to start.  The fireworks show was just amazing and always inspiring with the music that accompanies.  We all had an enjoyable time.

Unfortunately, our tire completely blew apart on the way home and we spent a good 45 minutes on the side of the Interstate at 12:30 a.m. fixing a tire.  I was so grateful Zac was there to help me.

Later in the week we had our own Fillmore Family Fireworks show with a bag of fireworks we had purchased while we were in Wyoming on a family camp out.

Whitlee cuddled her birthday bunny Ruby so that she wouldn't be scared during the fireworks.

I think the kids enjoyed watching our backyard fireworks more than they even enjoyed the Melaleuca Fireworks show.  There is just something about being able to light them yourself and playing with fire that is so magical.  What a wonderful holiday!
