Tanner is Perfect

Tanner may not really be perfect, though he is probably the closest to perfect almost 12-year old boy I have ever met... but he was perfect in one thing this year: Attendance!  Our school district is part of a program put on by an insurance agency in our area.  If the kids in 6th grade don't miss a single day of school or have any tardies then they are awarded a brand new 18-speed bike.  And of course, Tanner made it!  His teacher even called me after school let out for the summer to make sure that we took Tanner to get that bike because she was so proud of him and wanted him to know that she enjoyed him so much as a student.  She couldn't have asked for a better student to not miss a day of school.

Zac and I took Tanner on a date night, just the three of us to pick up the bike.  Before the ceremony, they had a bunch of carnival games and Tanner got to sample some of them...

And I might have sampled some of them too!

It was a hoot!

Then it was time to get the bike and a sporty new helmet too!

He is on cloud nine.  He really could hardly believe that it was really happening until he had that bike safe and sound in the driveway.

On the way home we got to stop and cash in some hamburger gift cards that Tanner had also won for having the fastest time in an obstacle course at a school carnival.  It was a wonderful night spent rewarding our boy for all of his outstanding accomplishments.

We are so proud of you Tanner!  Congratulations!
