I Would Like to Change the Name of the Month of March to RUN!!!: Part 1

You won't believe all of the things that we did in March!  Starting with St. Patrick's day.  I find in interesting how our own little family is starting to form our own holiday traditions different and unique to how Zac and I celebrated them growing up.  When I was a kid, St. Patrick's day meant that if you didn't wear green, then you got pinched at school.  To my kids it means green food, tricky mischief, and of course Lephrechaun traps...
Each of our kids made his or her own lephrechaun traps with NO help from mom and dad.  We had a ball listening to our kids explain how their traps work.  They left them out on St. Patrick's eve and as always that tricky lephrechaun found ingenious ways to get out of each of them...

(DISCLAIMER: I have way to many pictures to post and too much to say to figure out how to turn the gosh d!#$ pictures around, ths is my biggest cuss with blogger when it feels like it should just randomly turn pictures.)
Anyways, back to the leprechaun... as you can see he constructed clever little ladders, flags, and money retrieving devices.  (you can probably guess which parent had some handiwork involved in this one... and it wasn't the nursing mother passed out on the bed at 8 pm sleeping more soundly than the kids... thanks honey ;)

Scaffolding and ladders made by the lephrechaun

Tanner had accidentally left out some St. Patrick's day drawings that he did at school and would you believe it, that tricky lephrechaun cut out the pots of gold and stole them right out of the pictures!

My favorite part is how mad Tanner gets at being outsmarted by the lephrechaun.  He is reading a note that the lephrechaun left.  Tanner's wheels are already turning for next year's design.

Sophisticated money retrieval systems

I hope that someday they do catch that lephrechaun and get his pot of gold, 'cause I don't know how else we are going to pay for all of these college educations/ missions/ weddings/ brain surgeon school and astronaut training!!!
