Fools

I love, love, love April Fool's Day, and I guess I have passed my exuberance onto my children, because they absolutely love it too!

This year on April Fools Eve, I snuck into Ashlyn's room where Tanner, Ashlyn, and Ian were having a sleepover and gave them a makeover with washable markers...

You can bet that when they woke up they were quite surprised.  They snuck up the stairs and played some tricks of their own!!  I woke up and realized I was snuggling a stuffed monkey and our bed was filled with stuffed animals.  Our door was barricaded with toys and boxes.  We had a note saying "Happy April Fools day" on Zac's night stand and when I went to brush my teeth, there was a butter knife where my toothbrush used to be.  You can imagine how proud they made me.

Zac thought he was pretty clever because when I went down to get the kids, he found a website on the computer that made it look like my computer screen was cracked.  It worked for about 30 seconds until I caught on... so to get him back, I smeared grape jelly all over my c-section incision (don't freak out, the incision is healed now, grape jelly isn't going to infect my guts)  Then I told him that I had been lifting boxes all day and that my incision was feeling really sore and had him look at it.  And he made a very loud gasp, but then about 30 seconds later caught on... it was the best I could do on such little sleep and physical exhaustion after moving.  Next year I will get him so much better, the wheels are already turning.
