The End of the Basketball Season

All good things must come to an end and our basketball season finally ended (at least for a month or two... ha ha!)  Since Ian played C-Team this year, there was no district or tournament playoff games.  The season just ended.  His team had a nearly perfect season only losing one game.  And it is the first game they had lost since playing as a school team starting in 7th grade.  These are an impressive group of athletes and so fun to watch.

High school seasons are long, I believe he had around 20 games playing twice a week!  We celebrated with a rare trip to an actual restaurant!  Only Whitlee and Bronson had chosen to come to the game, so they got to join in on the celebration.

Whitlee's season also came to an end and she learned so much.  She had a cute girl's varsity player from our ward as her coach and she really spent a lot of time working with these cute girls.  Whitlee had a great time and is even playing in this league a year before she should be, but she is tall and wanted to play, you wouldn't know from the picture that she is a year or two younger than all of the other girls on this team.  She learned and increased her talents.  She is going to continue to do so well!

And Bronson absolutely loved having these awesome high school JV players as his coaches.  His coaches gave him as much one-on-one attention as he wanted and they worked with him on his skills and were so kind to him.  He had a great time and made good friends with his teammates and they did really well in their season.

Tanner finished up his church basketball season.  Tanner loves loves loves church ball.  It is so fun to finally play a sport he loves for the sheer love of the game.  He doesn't have to worry about play time or learning plays or missing practices.  He just shows up and plays.  And he is so good!  He was the defensive MVP, at least he would be if they gave out awards like that.  Our ward won the stake championship and got to advance to the 5-Stake Area Regional Finals, where our boys took the championship.  It has been so fun to watch Tanner play so joyfully and do so well at something he loves.
