The Dock Project
We sure love spending time at Grandma's 60 year old cabin. And part of our cabin experience has become an annual project to keep that thing running. This year our major project was re-building the docks that keep our boats corralled all summer. It was no small project, but thankfully it gave us motivation to get to the cabin as much as possible this summer to get it finished up.
While we were there, Ashlyn found this little bird hopping around on the ground...injured? And of course this girl of mine who loves animals of all shapes and sizes adopted it as a cabin pet. It even rode around on her shoulder. (We didn't take it into the cabin, Grandma, I promise.)
The beautiful new dock:
And of course, Zac had to build in his own unique touch, because he can and he's Zac... so now it has a secret compartment for storing minnow traps and ropes.
The launching and anchoring process was a monumental undertaking, but with two construction managers on the project, it went flawlessly!
I am sure our boys will hold this memory forever of building these docks and launching them and will forever be proud when they run down the length of those docks and jump into the water.
