Extreme Golf Cart Makeover

Our poor Grandma has had a hard time getting around with her bad knees this year, which makes it hard to fully enjoy her cabin experience.  So when the Summer started we went on a quest to find an inexpensive golf cart that she could use to drive around the island at the cabin and enjoy the outdoors without the pain of walking.  After months of diligent searching we finally found a reasonable priced golf cart in Jackson Hole, WY.  We are always looking for an excuse to walk around Jackson, so we jumped in and went.

The ski resort has added SO many fun activities for families to do during the summer.  We decided we would try their new coaster down the ski hill.

Whit wasn't so sure about it, but in the end she was smiling.

Here is the golf cart that we found.  It runs great, but looked like it had been rolled down a hill?  and the seats were missing some chunks of foam.

We had so much fun as a family removing hardware and stickers, adding bondo to cracks and dents and sanding everything flat.

Next up was painting.  We had to choose a color that was neutral to any grand kids school colors, so that there would be no favoritism.  We decided on a sporty red and grey.

We added some lights and enlisted some handy friends to make a bench and a canopy.

Now this thing is a sporty grandma and kayak hauler, though when all the grand kids are around, she has to beat them off with her crutches to get a turn to drive it.  We had such a memorable time making this golf cart for grandma.
