Halloween and the Great Pumpkin Pick 2019

Halloween time came and brought with it one of our favorite family traditions of the year.  The Great Pumpkin Pick!  Every year our family has a competition judged by social media to see who can be the most creative with a pumpkin.  The only rules are that the idea has to be 100% out of our own heads, and that the entry has to involve a pumpkin.  Other than that, we get pretty outside the box.

This year, Zac created this sad pumpkin with a terrible diet plan:

And I was feeling a little inspired by Dumbo.

It was one of the closest races yet with Zac winning by one vote!  Which entitles him to hold the Golden Pumpky for the year.

Here are the kids creative entries:

If you love me, vote for my sheep.  By Charlotte

Blastoff!  By Bronson

In a Galaxy Far Far Away, by Ashlyn

Pumpkin Scooper by Ian

Cheetah's Always Prosper by Whitlee

Carving a Wake, by Tanner

It was a fairly close race, but Ashlyn ended up the winner this year and gets the pumpkin trophy in her room for the year.

The kids were also awesomely creative with their costumes this year.
Bronson was Indiana Jones:

Whitlee was Elsa

Josie was a cat!

Charlotte was a Garden Gnome and put this outfit together herself from finds at DI.

Ian was Ned Forester from Dude Perfect

And Ashlyn was a VISCO girl.  Which I really didn't know anything about and she had to explain it to me.  Apparently it involves messy buns, lots of scrunchies, a graphic t-shirt, and a shell necklace... If you ask me she looked a lot like she does every day... but whatevs.  And Tanner was the same Tanner he has always been, the boy who refuses to dress up, since he was born.

And Zac and I went for some classic Duck Tales, best villains of all time, The Beagle Boys and Ma Beagle.

Though most people didn't have a clue who we were and just assumed we were Bonny and Clyde... I guess that works too.

Happy Halloween!
