Charlotte's Idaho History Project

One of the most enjoyable parts of the 4th-grade year in our neck of the woods is Idaho History.  In studying Idaho history, the kids get to learn about Lewis and Clark, Sacajawea, early pioneer settlers, Idaho geography (complete with mountains and rivers made with a clay map), colored state flags, and best of all square dancing!  Unfortunately, due to school canceling early this year.  Charlotte missed out on some of these fun projects.  To make it up to her, we bribed the big kids and put on a family square dance.  I promised them I would not take pictures or videos, but it was so much fun.

Charlotte was also able to complete her history project, which she planned all on her own.  She wanted to study toys and games that early pioneer settlers to our area would have played while on the Oregon Trail and then we staged some photographs.

She made Whitlee a yarn doll.

We had a stick pull.

Played marbles

Cat's Cradle

Blind Man's Bluff

And played with button spinners
It ended up being such a fun project for the whole family!
