Provo City Center Temple Open House
We had the opportunity on our recent trip to go through the new Provo City Center Temple. In case you don't know much about it, this is actually the second temple operating in Provo, UT. This particular temple used to be a historic tabernacle built by the pioneers. It was a beautiful building and Zac and I even had the opportunity to attend a regional conference in this building when we were attending BYU. The tabernacle burned down in 2010 in a tragic fire. Happily, in an LDS General Conference the following year, the prophet announced that the building would be reconstructed and re-purposed as a temple. I was so excited to walk through and see what they were able to accomplish with this transformation and be able to teach my children about temples as we walked through this reverent sanctuary.
We had the opportunity to take Flat Stanley along with us for the ride, as he was sent to us by Cousin Shay in hopes that Stanley would have a good adventure. I hope we didn't disappoint.
Cameras aren't allowed inside the temple, but the church has put together an amazing website with interior pictures and information on the historic value of the building. You can access it HERE
