BYU Campus Walk About

Between reunions and open houses and basketball games, we decided to take the kids to walk around campus and see what BYU had to offer.  BYU did not disappoint.  I think every sport BYU plays was being represented that day.  We had the good fortune to stumble into a BYU women's gymnastics tournament against SUU, that was being broadcast live, which meant the excitement was way pumped up.  It was so fun to show Charlotte, our only kid who has done gymnastics, just what it all looks like when you have stuck with it for years.  Those girls were amazing.

In the hall of the gymnastics tournament, they had some fun displays set up.
Corbin Kaufusi is the 6' 10" BYU basketball center and boy can he block a shot.  I hear my boys playing basketball sometimes yelling, "I am Corbin Kaufusi and you are not getting this shot in over me."
Tanner, as always thrilled to have his picture taken, though he really was having a great day.
Charlotte showed us her stuff on the balance beam.
And Ashlyn and I showed off our stuff in our BYU gymnastics leotards...

After we left the gymnastics meet, we stumbled onto a men's rugby game.  BYU was KILLING it!  It was fun to hang out at the fences past the end goal because every time they kicked a goal the ball would go sailing over the fence and we would try to catch them.

We also caught part of a women's soccer game at the new (new to me, anyways) indoor practice field.  Watching those girls head the ball was intense!

But the highlight of the day was on our way from point A to B, running into Cosmo the Cougar himself, probably the biggest celebrity on the BYU campus.  We had just watched him do a double backflip in full mascot gear at the gymnastics tournament and the kids got to see him perform his antics and amazing stunts that night at the game.

These are some of my new most favorite priceless pictures of the kids.  Bronson was tired and wanting to go back to the hotel to swim, so he refused to look at the camera in protest, and Whitlee and cougars... well...

At least Whitlee's emergency exit got the other kids to smile.  What a magical day!
