Our Good Buddy is Growing Up!

It was so hard for me to send Ian to first grade this year.  I can't tell you how much I miss all of his help in the mornings with Charlotte and Bronson.  He was also good help to me around the house.  But he is really enjoying first grade and doing so well!  I got to go to an award ceremony for him last week, where they honored him for being a Super Star in his class.  He got a medal and an award along with some coupons for an ice cream sundae and some bread sticks.  He was so proud and we are so proud of him for all of his hard work at school!

This boy was also old enough this year to sign up for a Junior Jazz basketball team and boy was he happy about that!

Getting some practice in with Dad before a game

This boy is one of the most coordinate dribblers on his team.

He has a great fan base.  Bronson loves standing on the sidelines screaming "Go Ian Go Go Go!!!" and "Good Job!!"

It is a little bit hilarious watching kids this age play as most of the rules go out the window and most kids just run with the ball and many aren't even strong enough to shoot the ball high enough to make a basket.

They wear colored wrist bands that coordinate with they player they are supposed to guard on the other team.  We have been working with Ian to help him understand that he doesn't have to guard his guy when his team has the ball :)

Ian fulfilled a personal goal when he made a basket in his first game.  After that he changed his goal to two baskets in one game and he got so close to making that goal last week as he had one basket and two very close misses.

I am so proud of Ian and how hard he is working to learn and improve himself in all areas of his life!
