8 is Great!
Well, it happened again. It seems that Ashlyn and Tanner are bound and determined to have a birthday every year and insist on growing older.
We have a birthday tradition at our house where the kids get to select how they would like their birthday cake to look like. This year I have made the unfortunate choice to introduce the kids to the TV show "Cake Boss" that we have been watching on Netflix. We love seeing the amazing cakes that Cake Boss comes up with, however it has made the kids get a lot more creative in their cake requests, and I have had to negotiate to find a happy medium that I can actually replicate!!!

No birthday is complete without a rousing game of heavy heavy hangover, thy poor head...
Charlotte decided that all the presents were hers and did heavy hangover her own poor head.
But in the end we prevailed and she did give the kids their gifts.
We let the twins pick out a gift for each other. Unbeknownst to each other, Tanner picked out a stuffed dolphin for Ashlyn and she picked out a stuffed shark for Tanner. They must be twins. And of all their gifts, these are probably the two that get played with the most. I love how they still play together and are best friends.
