Tanner Comes Home

Having a missionary come home after being gone serving the Lord for 24 months has got to be one of the best feelings in the world, better than any Christmas Day!  Tanner finished his mission and came home in August.  One very cool tender mercy was that one of his best friends, Nate Niu happened to be arriving home from his mission on the same day at the same time and they were able to come home together!

We have such an awesome family and had several cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and friends there to welcome him home.

Since he wasn't released until later in the night, we decided to make our own steak dinner to celebrate at home.  Of course, coming from the land of Omaha steak, he wasn't maybe as impressed as he should have been!

The kids loved going through his suitcase to see all of his Nebraska souvenirs.

After settling in for the night, we got up first thing next morning and headed to the cabin.  He loved all the changes and loved trying out the new surf boat.

I loved having Tanner home and all to myself for a couple of weeks before school started.  We got to spend lots of time together truck shopping, phone shopping, clothes shopping, school supply and apartment shopping.  And we even snuck in a temple trip and a hike.
We absolutely love having Tanner home.  We can't wait until Ashlyn gets home in March and we can all be together for a couple of months.
