Ian goes to State Track

Ian qualified for the State track meet which meant a big road trip to Boise!

Bronson wrote Ian a Poem to wish him luck:

Ian, you are so big, so strong
The distance you throw that discus
Is so crazy and outrageous
You'll do great at State, I'm not wrong
Do your best to throw that disc
Of course you will, you are so to risk
For the discus, you will huck
So long, farewell, and good luck.
Good Luck Ian!
-Bronson

It was super fun that several of his friends made it too so that they could room together and have fun playing in their downtime.

We love it when our siblings qualify for State because it also means a road trip for us!  I gave the kids some choices for activities while we were in Boise and they picked having some money for shopping and going on an electric scooter ride.  We stopped and had dinner at Noodles and Co. which is one of Ashlyn's favorite places to eat,  so we toasted our cups in her honor as she is still on her mission.

Ian was the first thrower at the first event on the first day.  So technically, his whole State experience was done and over with in about 20 minutes!

We met up with Dad who was on his way home from a business trip and we stopped in Shoshone Falls on the way home for a picnic lunch.  Shoshone is such a beautiful place to visit and a good halfway resting spot on our way to Boise.

We can't wait for next year when they add Javelin as an event.  Ian has been practicing and he can't wait to see what he can do!
