Bronson's 12th Birthday

Bronson turned the big 12 this year.  And he was due up for a party!  So we rounded up some friends and headed to Blast Off in Idaho Falls for some laser tag, rock climbing, and miniature golf.

We celebrated on President's Day as the kids had the day out of school.  And afterwards we had brownies and ice cream at our house.

Some of his presents included a metal detector, a model of an engine.  A model car from Charlotte, magic set from Whitlee, and a discus from Ian!

He just wanted a storebought cake this year, and I don't blame him.  Last year I kinda messed up his cake and it didn't taste or look all that great.  He was thrilled with his storebought cake this year.

We also like to take each of our kids on a birthday date with just mom and dad on the month of their birthday.  Bronson really loves escape rooms and almost always picks that for his birthday date.  This private themed one was really fun and Bronson is so good at solving clues!
10 Things about Bronson
1. He got the priesthood this year! He is so excited to have graduated from Primary, and really loved having the opportunity to receive the Priesthood.  He loves going to Young Men's activities and passing the sacrament.
2. He is incredibly smart.  He kinda has a reputation for being one of the smartest kids in school and has even told me from time to time that he teaches the teacher and teaches the class how to do math.
3. He is incredibly competitive at games, especially strategy games.  If you play him at Risk, Monopoly, Catan, Ticket to Ride, Chess, etc. He will most likely kick your butt.  His siblings pretty much don't like to play games with him anymore.
4. He is becoming quite the builder.  He is his dad's right-hand man when it comes to building projects.  He loves to go to work with his dad, especially when he can use power tools.
5. He is passionate about basketball. Any spare minute of his time at home, he can almost always be found out in the driveway taking shots.  He has perfected his 3-pointer and was given special permission by his basketball coach to be the only authorized player on the team who could attempt to shoot them.  He won the hoop-shoot at his school this year and took 2nd at districts!  He is awesome!
6. He is growing so tall, so fast.  He is getting close to overtaking his mom!
7. He still plays the piano and cello and has gotten very good at both instruments and has even been asked a couple of times to play prelude music for our church congregation.
8. In addition to basketball and football, he decided to try out track for the first time this year.  He is throwing discus and shotput and is trying long jump and high jump.  His brother Ian has been working with him on his throwing and he shows a lot of promise!  He is really enjoying track.
9. He collects football and basketball cards.
10.  He is the world's biggest BYU fan.  He could tell you about every basketball player on the team.  He loves them so much that when we filled out our March Madness brackets this year, he had them winning the whole thing, even though we told him that wasn't a very good idea.  He believes in them that hard.  He was devastated when they lost in the first round.  He has the coolest BYU fan room you have ever seen, bedding and all and half of his wardrobe consists of BYU shirts and shorts and even a tie.

Bronson is a happy, funny, but also serious boy.  He loves fun, he is competitive and fiercely independent.  He is smart, spiritual, and extremely kind.  We are so glad he is in our family!
Happy Birthday Buster!
