Snow Much Snow!

Winter got off to a little bit of a slow start this year.  So much so, that we were asked by our Stake to have a special fast for moisture as the farmers in the area had been worried about the groundwater levels.  The very next day after the fast, we got hit with a huge storm system.  It snowed hard for a solid month getting the kids a couple of snow days from school and even a no church day.

We were happy to finally have enough snow to build our annual igloo.  Bronson insisted that we build it big enough this year that he could sleep out in it.

Whitlee agreed to sleep out with them and we made it nice and cozy for them.

We also had fun sculpting snow animals.  Lori made a bear. Charlotte made an otter, and Whitlee made an alligator!

In March we decided to take a little trip to Provo to catch a BYU basketball game.  The day we left, we got hit with another huge blizzard and we had to drive very slowly and carefully to Provo and we saw many cars off the road along the way!

The poor flowers on Temple Square in Salt Lake City had tried to come up, but got blasted by the late snowstorm.

I loved how pretty these trees looked in Provo and around Temple Square.

On the way home, Zac decided to run through a car wash... On the SABBATH!  And of course, because we were doing something questionable on the Sabbath, we ended up getting stuck on the curb right outside the carwash, where loads of people from our community were driving by.  We are actually lucky to live in such a wonderful community because a kind family from our school district stopped to help push us out.

Zac and I were able to go on a fun little getaway to Miami mid-March and right after we left the kids got hit with another blizzard.  They had a snow day from school and we came home from fun in the sun to this winter wonderland.

I passed by the high school baseball field where the poor baseball team was drastically trying to get snow off the field so that it could start melting out for their game in a few days!
