Ashlyn's 8th Grade Basketball Season

Ashlyn's 8th grade year of basketball has now come and gone and I couldn't be prouder of this girl.  She didn't have the highest points record on her team, or the most rebounds, assists, or steals.  In fact, her playing time was very limited, but her attitude was phenomenal and for that I am just amazed with this girl.  She has such a strong desire to play.  She truly loves the sport.  I know that sometimes she feels super discouraged that she is sitting on the bench and not on the court as much as she would like, but you would never guess it by looking at her.  She is always on the edge of her seat cheering loudly for her team and when she gets out there she does her very best with the few minutes she gets.  If I ever suggest giving it up in pursuit of something else, she says, "Absolutely not!"  She is determined to get better and is just so happy to have the experience to practice and grow and be a part of a team.  

And with a family as big as ours, you better believe that she has her own huge cheering section on the bench!

I have watched Ashlyn over the years learn and progress and grow so much.  She could likely kick my butt in a game of one on one.  She is amazing and we all love watching her play!

Her team finished up 3rd in districts this year, but they have come such a long way.  Way to go Ashlyn!
