4th of July

One of our favorite family "Daycations" is Jackson Hole Wyoming.  It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from our home and we absolutely love it there.  There are so many fun and exciting things to do as a family and so many ways to spend a good wad of $$$.  With Zac having the day off of work, we decided it would be a great way to spend our 4th of July!

We had taken the kids to Snow King Ski Resort once before about 5 years ago to ride the Alpine Slide, but no one remembered it, so we decided it was time to plunge down the mountain again.

Tanner and Ashlyn were the first to brave the chair lift and I can tell you this is no small feat for Tanner who is terrified of heights.  I about made him cry in Scheels earlier this year when we rode on a Ferris Wheel together and I started rocking our cart... needless to say he was very brave to get on the chair lift!

And Char and I rode together to the top where she jabbered non-stop and enjoyed the ride very much.

Meanwhile, Zac waited on the ground with Ian and Bronson, because there is no way either of us were brave enough to take Bronson on the chair lift, so we had to do the slide in shifts.

Here we come:

Then it was Zac and Ian's turn to go up while I entertained the crew at the bottom.  I decided to practice my portrait taking skills.

Here they are going up...

And coming back down.

After the slide we found a park on the elk refuge and ate a picnic lunch that we had packed and then headed over to the community swimming pool.  The Jackson Community Swimming Pools is one of our favorite places to swim as a family.  It is rarely crowded and it is all in door, so weather proof which was good because it poured rain while we were swimming.  There are two indoor water slides, a climbing wall, diving board, and huge little kid area that even Bronson can walk around in.  We are always entertained for hours at a very reasonable price!  Afterwards the kids had brought some money to purchase some shark teeth at a shop we had seen last year.  They were so excited to get these great souvenirs.

We got back home about 7 pm, grilled up some hamburgers and hot dogs and got ready for the Fillmore Family Fireworks show.  We had stopped at a stand while still in Wyoming and got some of the "good stuff" if you catch my drift.

I was so excited to have my new camera this year because it has a feature where I can keep the shutter open for long periods of time so that we can make our sparklers look like this:

It says "Zac Fillmore"

What a great day...I love the 4th of July!
