Oh.... Christmas Tree?!

If you give your kids a Christmas tree...
They are going to want to decorate it.
So, they will get out the candy canes that they got from mall Santa and hang them on the tree.
Seeing the red and white candy canes will remind them of the red and white pipe cleaners that are in the craft closet and they will want to make their own.

After they hang the homemade candycanes on the tree, they will remember the time that they used candy canes to make reindeer, and they will want to make some more.
Seeing the reindeer hanging on the tree without a Santa Claus will make them sad...

So they will get out some gluesticks and cotton balls and make their own Santas.
As they hang their Santas on the tree, they will realize that they can make their own trees...

And they will make some.
Except when they hang those trees they realize,
That they don't twinkle and shine like the real tree,

So they will make new trees with some BLING...
When the BLING on the popcicle stick trees shine in their eyes,
They will remember the shiny balls that mom hangs on the tree every year,
And they will want to make their own, by drawing 50 of them on tiny scraps of paper and tying ribbon onto them to hang them.

Using ribbon will remind them that they saw some cool snowflakes in a magazine made with ribbon.
And they will want to make some.

Hanging the snowflakes on the tree reminds them that mom taught them how to make snowflakes out of paper last week
and they will want to make oodles of them to add to the decorations.

When they see all of those snowflakes, it will remind them of snow, which of course reminds them of snowmen.
And they will want to make some.

When they hang their snowmen on the tree, they will notice a small ornament of a nativity scene and they will be sad because they have forgotten the ture meaning of Christmas.
So, they will get out their pass along cards and put them in some ziplock bags, stuff them with paper and hang them on the tree.

When they finally step back to admire their work,
They will notice some bare spots on the tree...

And they will want to make some decorations to go on it!
(like these random ziplock bags filled with scrap paper... how beautiful!)
