Easter!
Easter is such a fun holiday. We get to celebrate the coming of Spring and also celebrate the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, the Atonement, his death and resurrection!
On the Saturday morning before Easter Sunday, the Easter bunny always finds his way to our house and leaves the kids some fun little toys to help them get outside and ring in Spring.
He also hides hordes of candy all over the house!
We always have to set a time limit for how early the kids can wake us up to find their Easter baskets and candy.
This is the first year we have let the kids wake Whitlee up rather than letting her sleep in a little later and just saving some candy for her.
Even though she's almost 14, this is the girl that got everyone up bright and early this year.
Silly string was definitely an outside toy!
The beautiful sunrise on Easter morning. A great and beautiful reminder that even as Christ died, he did rise again, and just as the sun sets every night a new and glorious day is always just around the bend.
On Easter Sunday, the kids were excited to make our traditional Resurrection rolls for breakfast, where we wrap a marshmallow in crescent rolls and bake them.
And when you cut into them when they come out, the marshmallow has disappeared and left the tomb empty! A great object lesson and a very yummy breakfast.
