St. Patrick's Day Mayhem

The Kindergarten in our area has a tradition for March 17th, in that they ask the Kindergartners to make and bring a Leprechaun trap to school.  As we do this as a family anyways, it made for a fun way to spend a Family Home Evening night with Charlotte in charge.

It is always so fun to see how the kids each think differently and uniquely in the innovation of their traps.

I forgot to take the 'before' pictures before the leprechauns came and destroyed everything.

I, myself went for a simple design this year.  I made a mini version of Twister and then sprayed spray adhesive all over it so that it was very sticky.  It looks as if a leprechaun may have gotten stuck with a right hand on blue but cut himself free... drat!

And to repay my prank, they made a kid trap with a Twister board of their own.  There is a mouse trap with a twix on it that says place your right hand on green!  Stupid leprechaun forgot to set the trap.

Ashlyn offered a trap with a free slide and no way out and Ian had a trap filled with OObleck and a coin on top of th Oobleck.  The leprechaun was supposed to step on the Oobleck and be sucked in like quick sand.
No luck

Bronson co-made a trap with Zac that had a false lid that when stepped on would fall through.  Tanner had a trap that was a huge box wrapped in tin foil...

Unfortunately, the leprechauns turned Tanner's trap into a cannon and shot little oranges at Bronson's to destroy it.

The worst part of it all was that Charlotte had lost a tooth the night before the 17th and left it under her pillow for the tooth fairy.  The tooth fairy wrote Charlotte a note that said she didn't think it was very nice to set all of those traps for her but she still left her a dollar.... unfortunately the leprechauns left a note on top of the tooth fairy's note that said they were stealing Charlotte's dollar.  She was TICKED!!!  Fortunately, mom had another dollar to give her in the morning.
