Charlotte's Birthday

Our little sunshine turned 6!
We started our day first thing with pancakes and presents from brothers and sisters.
She was SO excited to get a little Princess Palace Pets figurine set with book and play mat from Whitlee.

The kids were very excited to give her their gifts.  Tanner got her a cute little bunny pot filled with flowers.  Ian got her a watch.  Ashlyn got her a craft loom set, and Bronson got her a horn for her new bike.

Next it was time to make the cake.  She picked a really awesome pink camouflage cake mix.

And rather than searching through Pinterest and cake books, she actually designed her own cake this year.  I love that she did that and came up with her own unique idea.

The swirls were an after thought.

The candles were of course trick candles...
Which made for lots of wishes.

For her family party she chose to go to the Paramount to see Kung Fu Panda 3 in 3D.  She couldn't believe that we got to go to an actual real movie theater with popcorn and pop and everything.  That is a very rare treat at our family as we just have it way to good in our basement.  The movie was a huge success with everyone.

A week before her birthday, she got invited to a friend's dress up princess party.  She was so excited, she wore her dress up dress all day and crashed about an hour before the party because the excitement was killing her.  Fortunately, she was easily woken with a kiss!

We love this spunky little monkey.

10 Things we love about Charlotte
1.  She is very full of energy and is always in the fray of things trying to tackle her brothers getting right in the middle of their football games.
2. She recently started piano lessons and is doing very well.  She loves being able to play songs like her big brothers and sisters.
3.  She can ride a two wheel bike now with no training wheels!
4.  She loves art and is constantly drawing and coloring and painting.  We signed her up for some art classes this year at the library and got her an art kit for her birthday.  She is amazing.
5.  She loves to dance.  She is always dancing and doing gymnastics around the house.  She would love to take a dance class but settles for the clinics in our area.
6.  She wants to be a mom when she grows up.
7.  She is doing so well at reading and is one of the best readers in her class.  Her Kindergarten class had a read with a relative day where a relative could come in and read a picture book to their Kindergartner, instead she read this big picture book to me that she had never even seen before.
8.  She is a very deep thinker and is constantly learning and processing information.  Her church teachers often comment to me about some of the very deep and thought provoking answers she comes up with to gospel related questions.  She is always asking me what different words mean, and then she incorporates those words into her daily language.
9.  She is very mature beyond her years.  She says things that will often catch us off guard because it sounds so adult.  Combine that with her tall height and people often think she is older than she really is.
10.  She has a very kind heart.  A boy in her carpool was sick during their Kindergarten Easter egg hunt.  She saved some of her eggs and gave it to his mother to take home to him without any prompting from anyone.  She just came up with that all on her own.  She is sweet and caring and friend's with everyone!

We love our Charlie Bear!
