Halloween 2015: The Great Pumpkin Pick

Zac and I were discussing the other day what we thought that the kids would remember most about their Halloweens growing up and we both unanimously thought that pumpkins and the carving thereof will be at the forefront of memory.  All because we get so darn competitive.  Every year we have our family Pumpkin Pick contest, were the kids must create a creative jack-o-lantern out of their own heads, not copied from kits or Internet, magazines, or friends... just good ol' fashioned imagination.  One of the coolest parts this year is that we grew all the pumpkins ourselves!  The kids thought hard all year and this is what they came up with...

Charlotte's Happy Jack:

 Ashlyn's Creation:  Cat's Love Yarn

 Tanner's Panther Pride Pumpkin Helmet

Ian's Rise and Shout the Pumpkins are Out... Go BYU!!!

And Bronson's spooky Red Faced Jack

We left the voting up to family and friends, because that is just not something a parent can decide.  The votes were really tight, but the winner of the family Golden Pumpky this year goes to Tanner.  Ashlyn has had the trophy in her room from last year and she has now signed it and relocated it to Tanner's room for the year.

In the Adult Division we had two entries:

Disco Boogie (Man!) or Cinderella at the Disco Ball by Lori

And a super lame attempt by Zac this year titled the Pumpkin Family Bumper Sticker or Fillmore Family Foto.... no matter what you call it, I call it lame... and so did the voters.  Zac ended the contest this year with a whopping one vote.  Thanks Jan Williams!

I had a very enjoyable dinner at Outback Steakhouse where I did indeed enjoy some seafood with my steak, and Zac was able to have an enjoyable meal as well.  However, only one of us can have the Golden Pumpky and I sleep with it next to my bed.

Something we hurried and made for Whitlee because we were all burned out on carving at this point... hey, it's something.

And something fun by Zac to show off his new company logo created by him, named by me (More to come on a future post about our new business venture.)
