Halloween 2015: The Costumes

We have started a crazy habit... family costume themes.  It always seems to be Tanner's fault.  He gets us so excited when we can finally get him excited about dressing up.  The week before Halloween, Tanner's football team ended their season winning the championship at the Mini Dome, needless to say, he had football on the brain.  He has been very into watching his favorite football teams play this year.  He loves both the Steelers and BYU in equal measure.  When the main BYU football quarterback was injured and they had to bring in their back up quarterback, Tanner Mangum, we had a costume inspiration on our hands.  Tanner decided to be Tanner Mangum for Hallowen and that started a hailstorm of BYU mania around here.
Dad had to be a ref to keep us all in line.  You better believe he has made good use of that whistle and that flag.

Every kid needs a great mom to cheer them on, so that is just what I did. (Plus I got a cool new BYU shirt in the deal).

A darling "Cigarette" (this is what Charlotte told us she wanted to be when she meant to say "Cougarette")

Little Whitlee is always a fan of her brother's and sisters.

Whitlee also did part time as a lady bug when we went out trick or treating so that we could keep her warm.  We call her our little Whitty Bug, so this costume was perfect and she was incredibly adorable in it.

This costume was bought well before we had kids when BYU was having a sidewalk sale and we picked up this little baby pretty cheap in anticipation of someday having little BYU fans in our home.  Makes me tear up to see this dream realized.

And here is my little Tanner Mangum.  He is quite the kid.

And then there is Ian.  He decided to be a BYU basketball player because basketball is just the best and watching the BYU basketball team make it to the final four last year was just awesome.  He decided to be 21 in honor of Ian Clark on the Utah Jazz.  There is just something magical about sharing your name...

And then there was Spider Man. Bronson refused to cooperate with the family theme.  This kid was so stoked to be Spider Man that he dressed up every day for weeks creeping around the house shooting us all with webs.  He has never even SEEN Spider Man, but he sure seemed to know what he was doing.  He went around trick-or-treating telling the people at each house, "It's just me, Bronson, in a Spider Man costume."  The highlight of his night was seeing a big Spiderman, whom he told he loved.

We are doing a Mommy and Me preschool this year and I was lucky enough to get to host the Halloween party.  We had a ball!

Happy Halloween!
