Mental Pictures

This past week has been full of moments that I don't want to forget.  Sometimes, I forget that I can write here about the wonderful life experiences that happen to our family if I don't have pictures to go with them.  Sometimes cuteness is happening and my camera is just too far out of reach, other times events are just to sacred to photograph, and many times I find myself wanting to live more in a moment than behind a camera.  So here are a few snapshots from the past weeks from the mental pictures in my head:

On Saturday morning, I woke up early... but not as early as Zac.  Zac had been asked to give a talk in Sacrament meeting in our church on Sunday afternoon and his mind had been racing since 4 a.m. with ideas for his talk.  When I walked out of my room, I saw Zac sitting in his recliner with four little kids laying around him lying on their bellies with chins in hand listening captively as their daddy regaled them with tales from his coming talk.  Zac is the best to teach our children the gospel and always does it in such a fascination way that the children don't even know they are learning half the time.

I also wish that I had a picture of our kids piled into the back of Zac's truck ready to head out for one last back-to-school party before school started (today!)  We decided to take them to Planes at the drive-in and after loading in blankets, pillows, bean bags, recliners, end tables, snacks, and drinks we were ready to go!  The actual "movie" part of the whole experience was one of the most horribly awful family adventures of our life with about a hundred different things going wrong and ended at midnight being pulled over by an ornery police officer that nearly backed into US to begin with... but the excitement level leading up to the "Event" and the happy joyous candy party that ensued before the movie started deserves a mental picture.

I wish that I had a picture of Zac and my date night that took place the other night when we decided to finally check out what the Fort Hall Indian Reservation had to offer.  They had an amazing restaurant that I definitely need to try out a couple of times in order to enjoy everything that I wanted to order off that menu.  Also found out that we really like to play Black Jack in the casino!  At one point we had made enough to pay for our babysitter or half of our meal, but we didn't quit soon enough and ended up $5 in the hole.  Gambling lesson learned, but felt the $5 for a night of entertainment was well worth it!

Finally, I will forever treasure the memories of my husband giving my children back-to-school  Father's Blessings the night before school starts.  It is one of the most holy experiences that can take place with-in our home.  The Spirit is so thick you can just die of joy overload.  Some of the most precious parts of my evening were when Charlotte elbowed her way in to get her blessing because she is "going to school too!" and Bronson (18-months old) climbing into the blessing chair insisting that his daddy give him a blessing too and sitting still through the whole thing!  What a great family we have and what a sweet and special blessing I received too at the hands of my worthy husband.  Thank you Zac for being so close to the Spirit and worthy to perform this blessing for us :)
