Ashlyn and Tanner's 6th Birthday

The most important part of birthdays around our house is the cake. The kids start deciding on their cakes for the coming year about the day after their birthday.

Just about every year so far, Tanner has had some sort of a car/ race car/ monster truck cake theme. This year he decided to have the track in the shape of a 6, with 6 race cars.
He was so proud of himself because he thought to put the green all over for grass areas, he also drew a grand stand and the lines on the road. He was very proud of his cake.
Making a wish...
And here we have the sweetheart cake, because as you know Ashlyn's middle name is Sweetheart.
Ashlyn is obsessed with hearts and the color pink right now. She selected some pink and orange candles with flowers on them and frosted and decorated her cake all by herself (with a little help from mom on the frosting).

What will she wish for?

Yeah, we need two hands to show you our age now!

I hope you wished for clothes!

It's best if you open your present first, because when you are twins, chances are you have the same present as your brother and at least if you are first, you get to be surprised.

One cool thing about combined birthdays are combined big gifts like a Power Wheels!
Ian had such a fit because he wanted the Power Wheels so bad that poor Ashlyn let him have the first turn.
And she rode the four-wheeler that Ian got for Christmas. What a Sweetheart.
