The Puppies of Fall
We were so excited to finally get some puppies here this summer. Bailey was ready about a month later than usual and we were worried it was going to start turning too cold for puppies with Fall right around the corner. Ian was very excited to be the one to help with the puppies this year and benefit from the proceeds. We got quite the surprise the night Tanner was packing up to head to the Provo MTC as Bailey went into labor. When she finally dropped the first puppy around 9:00 that night, we were shocked to see it was black!!! What the ?!?! That wasn't at all what we were expecting. As the night wore on, we ended up with 5 black puppies with white markings and 4 golden retrievers.
I ordered a DNA kit to see what we were dealing with and it turns out that these little dudes had a Dalmatian dad.... which made total sense since I had been running off the neighbor's Dalmatian all summer. We just really didn't anticipate that he had gotten to Bailey or that the puppies would come out entirely black with little white markings!
It was a very unique summer with our little goldmatians and fun to keep track of each of them with their individual little markings. However, it is a summer we hope to not repeat especially since our next-door Romeo moved away!
