Tanner Gets the Call

The day Tanner has been planning and preparing for since he was a little boy finally arrived.  On May 3, 2022, Tanner received an e-mail notifying him that he had received his mission call!  Unfortunately for him, Mom and Dad were in Florida on a business trip and made him PROMISE not to read the call until they got home.  And in turn, we had to PROMISE that we wouldn't peek either, since Zac is the Bishop and had access to his call as well.  Needless to say, none of us got much sleep that week as we couldn't wait to see what that call said.  We put out the word to all of the family and friends that Friday would be the day when he opened and read his call and so many came to our house to support him!

We bought lots of pie and ice cream to celebrate!

Home MTC starts August 22

Tanner's friends were stoked as so far all of them also had stateside missions and most of them also learning Spanish.  Some of them even leave at the same time.

We had everyone make a guess on a world map and a United States map.  Aunt Annie had the closest guess, as she had actually put a flag in his mission area!  She won a little stationery set so that she could write Tanner lots of letters on his mission.

Ashlyn doesn't know what she is going to do without this twin brother that has been her best friend and companion for the past 18 years.  Such a bittersweet experience growing up!

After the party, we talked the Martineau sisters into letting us borrow all of the girl cousins that could make it to have a girl's night sleepover party since we were all getting together again the next morning for Lauren's bridal shower.  They had tons of fun!
