First Ski Trip of the Season

Our awesome cousin Garrett recently earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and we wanted to make the 2 hour trek over to see him get his award.  The cousins had the awesome brainstorm that while we were down their way, we should come check out their hometown ski resort of Pomerelle since we had never skied there.

The kids had a ball.  The big kids disappeared with their cousins the minute we got on the ski hill and had a blast trying out an infinite amount of new runs.

Zac and I stayed with Whitlee and Bronson to continue their ski education.

Let's just say, Whitlee is not a real dare devil and did not think going up the lift was a great idea.

After a few runs on the bunny hill Bronson decided he was ready for the lift.  I offered to take him.  Having never skied Pomerelle before, I got a little mixed up on the lifts and the runs and ended up taking him down a Black Diamond trail for his first run down the lift.  He was not impressed.  He had a pretty good yard sale, which is what happens when you crash hard and your skis and poles go flying in every direction.  I had a hard time talking him into putting them back on.  He was determined he was just going to walk down the rest of that very large mountain.  I was trying to help him and was praying in my heart that I could find a way to get him safely down the hill when a kind dad snowboarded by and offered to carry him on his snow board if I would carry his skis.  It worked.  We got him most of the way down the mountain and he wasn't scarred for life.

Later we caught up with Charlotte who showed us where the easier runs were and he ended up having a great time.  Pomerelle is a definite do again.  And we are so proud of Garrett for completing a very difficult program in scouting and getting his Eagle.  It was really fun that he and Tanner finished at the same time.
