Charlotte's Softball Season

Charlotte had quite the softball season this year.  She was so excited to graduate from t-ball to coach pitch this year.  However, she learned pretty quickly that "softballs" aren't very soft when a girl on her team belted her in the face at a practice.  She came away with a pretty good bruised cheek and black eye.  I think this now makes about 20 times that Charlotte has been hit in the head and face.  She still seems as smart as ever... though she does have a bit of a quirky sense of humor (maybe the hits to the head are making her crazy.)

Charlotte was a great hitter and only struck out I think once in all of her games.  She had some pretty great hits, which equated to some doubles and triples by the time the other team fielded her ball and over threw it at the bases.

She was also a great fielder and got a couple of great outs at 2nd base.

I have to be careful when I am taking pictures of her because she will sit and pose for the camera rather than paying attention to the game!

 

Charlotte was a pretty lucky duck and had a great team this year.  They ended up with an undefeated season and swept their tournaments ending up with a 1st place trophy!  It pretty much sealed the deal for her and softball may now be her favorite sport even despite the face injuries!
