Ashlyn's Softball Season

I feel so proud of this girl right here.  She decided that she wanted to improve her softball skills this year, which is harder and maybe more intimidating than it sounds.  She had sat out softball for a season last year and when she decided she wanted to play this year it was too late to get on a team with girls from our area, so I signed her up for an "in-town" league which meant that she wouldn't know any of the girls on her team.  She said she was up for making new friends and also for putting herself out there after not playing so we went ahead and signed up.

Her coach was tough.  In fact we had bets on whether or not she was coaching the team as part of a community service plea deal, but Ashlyn learned a lot.

She played most of the season in left field.

Her batting improved so much this year I dare say she was one of the best hitters on team.  

In the end the Ashlyn's team lost all of their tournament games, but we felt like the experience and the new friendships were a win for Ashlyn in this case.
