Halloweenies 2016
Halloween 2016
The festivities and treats were abundant and joyful. I think most the kids wore a different costume to every party and event, totaling 3-4 costumes each. I don't know what it was about this year, but none of us could stick with one costume. It was fun to see the kids imaginations run rampant with the costumes and props we had to work with in the house.
Charlotte loved being a bee...
Ashlyn was a crazy cat lady...
Ian was rocking the Snake River Panther football uniform...
Whitlee made the most adorable Anna, though it only ever lasted for 5 minutes at a time because she thought the dress was so uncomfortable, she wanted it OFF the minute we put it on:
Awwww... Do you wanna build a snowman?
Bronson made his own costume with the Jake and the Neverland Pirates props that he has. I think he did a great job!
And Tanner was Tanner.... though later he was also a hunter and a fisherman... so really not that much different than being Tanner, but what could be cooler?
We also had our annual Pumpkin Pick Contest. The rules are the same every year. The pumpkin carving ideas have to be 100% from everyone's own brains. No getting ideas off of the Internet, magazines, or other pumpkins that we have seen. The kids did not disappoint with their creativity this year!!!
Charlotte created a darling fishbowl:
Ian decided to create a cannon out of a pumpkin that could launch pumpkins like in Punkin' Chuckin'... I give you the Pumpkanon!
Bronson is into all things Peter Pan right now. It is just his favorite! So of course, he opted for a Peter Pan design:
Ashlyn created a bird house/ bird feeder and filled it with actual sunflower seeds from her sunflower garden:
And Whitlee's most favorite thing in the world right now is Daniel Tiger. I would be a hater, but she says "Ugga Mugga" so darn cute, I can't help but let the Daniel Tiger fandom continue:
And Tanner decided to do a conestoga wagon. The guy has Pioneer Treks on the brain because he and Ashlyn are currently getting ready for a trek to Martin's Cove this coming June.
Charlotte came out the winner by a landslide this year with her fish bowl! The Golden Pumpky Trophy now resides in her bedroom and she couldn't be prouder.
And then there is the fierce competition that takes place between Zac and I each year.
This year I went for the pun... I give you Halloweenie!
And Zac went for the universal turtle appeal:
Okay, that is a really cute use of the pumpkin stem for his tail...
But not cute enough! Halloweenie wins by a vote and Lori gets to pick the movie for date night, and you better believe that there is not going to be one single Avenger in it!
We love Halloween!
