Summer... The End

Well, Summer flew by as it always does and now the kids are back in school.  Bedtimes are back in effect and everyone is sleeping in their own beds again.  And though those things are nice, we will miss not having our big brothers and sister home to entertain us all day and we won't have quite as many fun things to look forward to like we did this summer.

Like when we...
Got to go to Scout day camp.

Look at all those awards.  What a stud muffin.

Of course, hair cuts are still in effect, just maybe not quite so extreme:

I don't think I have EVER seen this kid without some sort of food plastered all over his face.

Tanner is starting a new trend with a buzz down the middle.

We certainly got our share of playing in the rain!  It has been one rainy Summer.  The kids keep saying they got ripped off because it has felt much more like a Spring break.

And Tanner started football... like for reals football with pads and everything!

And since Mom is a dumb girl who doesn't know stuff about football, Dad had to step in and show Tanner where all those pads go.

Holy Smokes what are we getting into?

It never ceases to amaze me that this is the same boy who started life at 3 1/2 pounds.  This scares me to death, but it is so fun to watch him growing up.

Here are the items on the Summer bucket list that we checked off this year:
Swimming Lessons
A Cabin Trip (or 2 or 3)
Swim at Jensen's Grove and build a sand castle
Free Lunch in the Park
Go to Rigby Lake
Basketball Camp
Eat a Snow Cone
Go Down a Water Slide
Library Summer Reading Program
Sleep Outside under the stars
Make a New Kind of Treat
Catch a Fish
Play with Friends
Do a Craft
Go Hiking

And we did have to make one substitution for "Catch a Frog" as we technically did not catch one, but we do happen to have a family of salamanders living in our basement window well.... so I am counting it!

What a Stupendous Summer we had!  And now onward to a Fantastic Fall.
