Winter Things

We did some organization and cleanup projects at the cabin this year.  One of those projects was to get rid of all of the mismatched old sheets and update to new matching sheet sets.  The girls couldn't bear to see all of the colorful and floral sheet prints from the 1960s and 70s go to DI, so they decided to make quilts.  We found an awesome quilt block cutter at the local library, and it made quick work of sewing quilt blocks together.  Charlotte went with a random pattern and used sheets that had bright and floral patterns.  I was so proud of her for sewing the pieces together so well and we celebrated by getting it quilted.  It has now become a favorite blanket in our home and brings back all of the memories of the cabin!

Bronson was gifted some rocket engines for Christmas and since we had such a mild winter, he was able to put them to good use and we had fun launching some rockets!

Zac was given an automatic .22 pistol for Christmas from a good friend and we wanted to go test it out.  He had also previously been gifted an AK Rifle from the same friend and we had fun laying waste to some old technology that we needed to clear the memories from!

Bronson got glasses!  And then decided about one week later that he never wanted to wear them again.  But I think he looks so handsome and smart!

We had the most mild Winter any of us can remember and never even had close to enough snow to make our annual igloo this year.  We had to run out one day when we got a good storm and work quickly to make a snowman.

Bronson and Whitlee recreated a photo from when they were young.

Charlotte has been getting crafty with making some fun shirts!  She made this Captain America shield out of old fabric scraps.  It turned out so cute!
