Bronson's 14th Birthday
Bronson had a birthday!
That kid is such a sneak that somehow he always seems to figure out what his gifts are. This year I had fun trying to wrap his presents in surprising ways so that he couldn't guess what they were.
This robot was actually a basketball!
Bronson's birthday usually lands on or around President's Day and the kids get a day off from school, so we have a tradition of going to the cabin to celebrate Buster's birthday.
We hadn't been for over a month, and the squirrels had left us a huge nut pile on the porch!
He got spoiled rotten with gifts from Zac and I and each of his siblings. Zac and I gave him a fun air soft rifle and a flying lesson!
The snow was more abundant at the cabin and since we couldn't make an igloo at home, we made snow caves! They got pretty big and we had fun tunneling to each other's caves.
We also packed the snowmobile and had fun taking everyone for some sled riding fun!
I am starting to get lazy and we opted for buying a store bought birthday cake this time rather than trying to make one at the cabin. I guarantee it tasted a lot better than one I would have made!
This picture came up in my memories. It always touches my heart to see how proud Ian was to be a big brother!
10 Things to Know About Bronson
1. His biggest dream in life is to own an innovative appliance company called Ample. He already has the logo drawn up and appliances that he has been dreaming up. And don't try to talk him out of his company name, his mind is made up!
2. He loves to doodle logos in his spare time. He invents companies and logos and designs shoes and jerseys. This is what he does when he can't sleep at night.
3. He is selfless. He is always looking for ways to help. I watch him show up to church 20 minutes early and stay 20 minutes late every week to help set up and clean up. He is also the guy who will always shag the discs and shot puts at a track meet long after everyone else has run off to play. He is a huge help around the house. I appreciate him so much!
4. He has become an expert trailer backer. I love that he is getting so good at hauling and backing trailers. I take him along with me if I ever have to pack a trailer, and he is so handy!
5. He loves track season and is improving at throwing the Discus and Shot Put!
6. He played a new football position, Center, this year, and he got so many compliments about how well he did at it. He still doesn't "love" football, but he is doing pretty well at it! His team won the 8th-grade championships this year.
7. He enjoys playing the piano and writing songs.
8. He loves basketball and is always looking for someone to go out and play with him. This is the first year he didn't play school ball, but he really enjoyed his time playing church ball. He loves it when Tanner comes home and plays one-on-one with him and NBA 2K on the Switch.
9. He is a dang hard worker and works spring-fall moving pipe. He also works for Zac often and earns lots of money helping on the jobsite. He already has enough money saved up to serve a mission!
10. He has set a goal to read his Book of Mormon this year on his own, and he works hard to keep on track with his goal. He is a serious kid, and he thinks deeply about things. I love listening to his testimony and what he learns from his gospel study.
We sure love our buster!
