Summer Fun
It was an El Nino weather year, and I'm not sure what that means, but we had incredible weather this Summer and some of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises I have ever seen.
With that gorgeous weather, we were able to do a lot of fun things this summer. Sadly, we are down to just Whitlee taking swimming lessons. She finally got promoted to the other end of the pool, but she wasn't any to thrilled to be working on diving. It still intimidates her a little. But she was brave and she passed off her lessons and I am so proud of her!
Bronson got to go with his friend Tommy to a free ISU football camp in the mini dome. They had a lot of fun!
And while the boys were doing their camp, Whitlee decided she would like to get her ears pierced! She is getting so brave!
Bronson made us a hatchet-throwing target. He designed it to spec on sketch up and then built it all by himself. It works so well and we love throwing hatchets!
Whitlee and I found ourselves all alone while everyone else was at camps. So we made a golfing date with Grandpa Bob and she even golfed too. She did awesome!
Zac snapped a picture of the bin house that he designed that was built in Lava Hot Springs while he was at stake Young Men's Camp.
And Bronson, Whitlee, and I had a chance to drive through Paris, Idaho on our way to Bear Lake to drop Sage off to be bred. The summer olympics were in Paris, France this year, so we thought it was fun to say that we traveled to Paris.
There is a beautiful historic tabernacle in Paris Idaho.
After dropping the dog off, the three of us spent some time swimming and playing in beautiful Bear Lake.
We said goodbye to cousin Brock as he left for his mission in Omaha Nebraska! He got to cross paths with Tanner as he came in to start his mission and Tanner was in Omaha preparing to leave for home.
And we spent a lot of time in August before Tanner came home finishing up projects and cleaning out the garage. We were determined to finish our fireplace and mantel and get new carpet before he got off the plane and it nearly killed us!
We poured our own concrete bench slabs and we all have some pride about having a hand in creating this masterpiece!
And right before college, we talked Grandpa Bob into taking us on a river fishing trip on the boat. We didn't catch a big brown trout like we were hoping on the river, but we did find a nice hole right by the dam where we pulled out lots of rainbow and cutthroat trout. It was a fun adventure and a gorgeous day!
We really packed in so much fun this summer, there was hardly a dull moment. We love Idaho and all of the fun activities right in our backyard!
