Zac's Trip to Singapore

Zac had the opportunity to travel to Singapore for a work conference.  The only thing I knew about Singapore was that an American boy was caught vandalizing there in 1994 and he was given the punishment of being hit with a cane.  It was a super big news story when I was growing up, so it made me want to do some research into Singapore law to make sure Zac wouldn't get caned during his stay.
Here is what we learned about Singapore:
1. Chewing gum is illegal.
2. No durian fruit is allowed on public transport (they have a nasty smell).
3. It is illegal to walk around naked.
4. It is illegal to sing offensive songs.
5. Not flushing public toilets is illegal.
6.  Jaywalking is illegal.
7. It is illegal to feed pigeons.
8.  Pornography is illegal.
9.  Littering comes with a $1,000.00 fine.
10. No eating or drinking on public transportation.
11.  Public displays of affection are illegal.
12.  Smoking and spitting in public is illegal.
13.  No kite flying.
14. No urinating in elevators!

Whew!  It's a good thing we reviewed these laws before Zac left, or he may have found himself in some serious trouble for chewing gum or flying a kite.

Because Zac flies so much he is a Diamond Medallion with Delta and was upgraded to some swaggy accommodations on his flight to Singapore, which is great because it was a very long flight.

Because of all of its stringent laws, Singapore is a very clean place.  It was beautiful to drive in at night and see the city lights.

Zac had a day to rest, get adjusted to the time zone and found a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He loved meeting the youth there and was impressed with their faithfulness!

There are actually very few tourist attractions in Singapore, but here are a few of the famous sights:

We always miss our dad when he is gone, especially on long trips like this.  But it truly is incredible that he has had these opportunities to experience the world.  It also helps when he brings us home lots of candy to try.  We especially like American candy like Kit Kats that come in different flavors globally... like a strawberry one!  We weren't as big of fans as the packaged pickled egg!
