Piano Duet Recital

The kids recently performed in a duet recital for piano.  They worked very hard on their pieces.  Duets can be so tricky because you really have to count and listen to the other persons part and sync your counting together.  It can be so challenging.  Ashlyn and Tanner are so lucky because they started piano at the same time and as with most things in life have a natural partner for their duets living right at home with them.  Though I won't lie, it wasn't always sunshine and roses and making beautiful music together... there were many piano battles that ended in feuds.  Though the finished product is amazing, I am somewhat glad it is all over.

I got the fortune to play a duet with Ian this year and he played another duet with a neighbor across the street.  Unfortunately, Whitlee wasn't letting me do any recording at the recital and Zac was having a hard time with the camera... so I made the kids do their duets again when we got home and I played Ian's second duet with him too.  Not that the recording quality was much better at home.  We need to figure our camera out a little better... but oh well you can hear their masterful pieces and that is what counts!
